This time, we came calling on London! Jason and Tyler went across the pond to hear three pitches from three killer UK startups. So who won? Watch and find out!
00-6:30 Thank you to SurveyMoney for sponsoring the show! Everyone remember to thank them @SurveyMonkey on Twitter for their support of independent media like TWiST.
30-7:30 The first pitch is for Streaming Well by Genevieve Robson, co-founder. Streaming Well is an online network of health channels that manages the production and distribution of videos geared toward educating patients and healthcare professionals.
30-8:30 Jason: This was a solid pitch and it’s a great business.
30-9:30 Jason: It would be good to give us a personal reason why you founded the site.
30-11:15 Tyler: What impression did you want us to walk away with?
15-14:15 Tyler gives the presentation a 6.
15-16:00 Jason gives the business idea an 8.
00-18:45 Sanford, what do you give this on a scale of 1-10 as a business idea?
45-19:30 Do you think our feedback was fair?
30-20:15 Next up to pitch is Six3. The presenter is Tim Grimsditch.
15-21:30 The pitch: Six3 is a video messaging client that integrates between Macs, PCs and mobile devices to enable you to send free, sixty-three second video messages.
30-22:45 Sanford: The presentation was excellent, I give it an 8.
45-23:30 Tyler: You had good posture and enthusiasm which made it personal.
30-25:00 Jason: Telling us what was unique or what major problem you’re solving would have made the pitch exceptional.
00-27:15 Jason: On a business level, I’m sort of at a 7 right now.
15-30:30 Sanford, what do you think of the business?
00-32:00 Sanford: One of the challenges I think you’ll have is finding a niche.
00-35:00 Thank you to MailChimp for sponsoring the show!
00-36:30 Next up is Lee Morgenroth pitching Lee Mail.
30-37:45 The pitch: Lee Mail provides dummy email accounts specific to what you’re signing up for in order to reduce unwanted mail in your inbox. Click the Lee Mail button to generate a new email addresses when signing up for something online, then manage those communications within the Lee Mail platform.
45-39:45 Sanford: I liked your presentation and I think the idea about communicating the solution was great. I still have some questions about alternatives, though.
45-42:30 Jason: I give the presentation a 5 but I think the business idea is good.
30-44:15 Tyler: I would actually use this.
15-47:30 Tyler gives the business an 8, Jason gives it a 7.
30-49:00 Jason: I feel like this might be better as a Google App for business. I’m intrigued but not sold.
00-53:30 Jason and Tyler vote on their favorite company and the winner is Lee Mail! They win a table at the LAUNCH conference in March 2012 in San Francisco.
